Cypress & False cypress

Cypress trees have leaves which look more like fronds than needles.

This is a particularly impressive example of a false cypress tree – a Lawson cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana)

Just round the corner from the tree above, this Lawson cypress is just off the path leading down to the Car park by Grange Road.

Three Lawson cypress in one here, opposite the old tennis courts, just behind the Heather beds.

I don’t know what this tree is, I believe it to be some sort of cypress. It has a number but that number is not on the database that we were given. It will be recorded somewhere, so watch this space . . .
